Author Notes

This piece of literature seemed to just flow from my pen. In a way, it was a form of healing. I wanted to share, in an understandable way, how spiritual abuse can affect a person. The characters in my book do not represent any people I actually know. Each has his or her own, distinct personality. But the situations themselves, although fictional, bear the same stamps of spiritual abuse as the real-life circumstances that I had witnessed. The same tactics were also practiced. The idea is to instill a self-doubt until the person becomes distrustful of him or herself. Rather than heal the broken, as they claim, they instead are creating the broken. And this is a message that I wanted to share.

From the Back Cover

As Margaret Zeiler clings to cherished memories from her past, she finds herself wrestling with a growing uneasiness. Willing to make many sacrifices, she chooses to ignore that she often remembers things differently from the others that she works with. But soon she begins to doubt her very essence. When spiritual unity involves deception, tensions increase and her role as an outsider escalates. Her troubling dreams become her lifeline: sometimes the "struggle is not against flesh and blood" (Ephesians 6:12).
