The Book Cover Design Process

When designing a book cover, I work with the book's author. First, I am provided either a copy of the book or a description of the book.
The Bible study is based on James 3:1-12: Nothing has more effect on others more than the words our tongues produce. The tongue is capable of calming the most wild beast, settling disputes, smoothing matters over, and lifting the spirit of others. The tongue also can crush the spirit of others, stir up wars, and create divisions among even the best of friends. How we use our tongue- as a blessing to others or a curse to others is our choice. Throughout this study, we will begin to realize only the Holy Spirit can control our tongues allowing us to be inspiring and uplifting to others instead of an out of control fire consuming and destroying others.
Then, I also receive the author's basic vision for how he or she would like the book cover to look. From there, I submit designs and continue to listen to, and use, the suggestions that the author makes.

Finally, I finish the cover to the specifications that I am provided with. The process is complete.
